Product and advantages

If you want to know the price of your food, just ask your plate.

pabis. The first porcelain that has something to say.

Nowadays, it is easy to track all kinds of goods and materials using tiny, unimpressive chips. But there is more potential in it. Such chips can also be used to send very targeted information in a wireless and contact-free manner. They can, for instance, identify the product which they are connected with.

Bauscher has used precisely this advantage to develop an innovative payment processing solution: pabis turns plates and bowls into “intelligent porcelain” that has a collaborating “mind”, allowing to automate payment processing.

pabis uses RFID, an innovative radio frequency identification system, that helps more and more companies to perfect their process flows. Transfered to catering companies this means: automated payment processing for food and beverages.

For this purpose a transponder chip is embedded in the tableware, which sends data to a payment system. The food and beverage items selected by the respective guest are accurately identified and billed accordingly.

pabis - an example.

The transponder chip in a plate “recognizes” what kind of food is placed on the porcelain (e.g. schnitzel, salad). The plate sends this information as well as the prices of the different items to the (electronic) cash register. There, the guest receives a bill listing all the selected items and pays for the meal in a cashless transaction. The same principle applies for beverages.
