Major orders on the high seas. Weiden porcelain manufacturer equips four cruise ships in 2009

Impressive proof of the service and creativity of Bauscher: The porcelain manufacturer from Weiden, a brand of BHS tabletop AG, will be providing tableware for as many as four cruise ships this year. The operators of the AIDA fleet ("AIDAluna"), of TUICruises ("Mein Schiff") and Costa Crociere ("Costa Pacifica" and "Costa Luminosa") have all decided to choose tableware from Bauscher, which is synonymous with the well laid table. In doing so, not only did they place  their trust in the outstanding design of Bauscher porcelain, but also in the excellent logistics and service of the number one address for specialist of professional porcelain worldwide.

Providing the porcelain for a cruise ship represents a major challenge: Not only is it necessary to manufacture several tens of thousands of porcelain items within a very short time, but they also have to be delivered to the particular port on a precise day. The order by Costa Crociere is particularly large: Bauscher will be producing almost 1.5 million items of tableware over the next two years for the sister ships "Costa Pacifica" and "Costa Luminosa", which are going to be launched jointly on 5 June in Genoa, as well as for the other twelve ships of the fleet, which are gradually going to be changed over to Bauscher porcelain. The operators of the ships chose articles from the Maitre and Carat collections. In addition, Bauscher developed further new articles especially for the customer's individual needs within the shortest possible time. "The quality of our products, our service package which was precisely tailored to the customer and the price/performance ratio proved convincing for the customer," says Manuela Küfner, Marketing Manager. Bauscher will also be supplying the porcelain for the "Costa Deliziosa" which is due for completion in 2010.

The AIDAluna was also launched this year. Bauscher has equipped almost the entire AIDA fleet, and was also given the order for the new luxury ship which can carry 2,000 passengers. Like with the other AIDA ships, Bauscher produced special décors for the buffet restaurants and the "Buffalo Steakhouse", which are specially designed for the wishes of the customer. The collections used on the AIDAluna are Maitre, Prisma and Raffinesse. "Mein Schiff" is the latest project by TUICruises. The 263 metre-long ship was built back in 1990, but has been thoroughly modernised. Guests can pamper their gastronomic tastes in four restaurants and six bistros. Bauscher is also by far the dominant porcelain supplier, with its Maitre, Options and Modulus collections.
